Job description

A.M.L. is looking for an enthusiastic staff member for the Pathology Department to join the team.

Job description
You will be employed in a clinical laboratory accredited to ISO 17025, where your duties will include performing the following analytical methods.

  • Assisting the Veterinary Pathologist
  • Sample preparation
  • Processing of surgical tissue material
  • Processing biopsies and cytological preparations (macroscopy)
  • Assisting with autopsies
  • Performing histochemical staining
  • Administration and organisation concerning animal pathology

Profile

  • You have a higher education qualification in agri-biotechnology or animal care.
  • You have a good knowledge and understanding of pet anatomy.
  • Experience/training/interest in pathological anatomy. In-house training will be provided.
  • You will be able to work both independently and as part of a team, with appropriate responsibility.
  • You will be able to work punctually, show initiative and have good organisational skills. 

Work-related competences

  • Perform quality assurance activity
  • Perform biological analyses of tissue
  • Receive and check samples. Record the date, time of collection, details of an animal in need of care, etc.
  • You are willing to attend refresher courses and training.
  • Keeping the workplace and equipment orderly, tidy and disinfected. Dispose of and destroy waste.

Required studies

  • Professional Bachelor's degree in Agro and biotechnology, animal care

Offer
We offer a full-time position.
Duration: contract of indefinite duration.
Hours: daytime hours between 7:15 and 17:30.
